From Washington DC to Germany for the wedding at Lake Como; Silvia & Holger’s wedding was a true and wonderful melting pot! With the bride-to-be an Italian, while Holger a German, the couple decided, as per tradition, to tie the knot in Silvia’s hometown, overlooking the fairy tale Lake Como.
On the day, the couple gets ready at Silvia’s family home. The bride is with her sister and the skilled make-up artist Angela, who helps her into one of the most elegant gowns I’ve ever seen. They are all living tender moments together, moments of intimate sharing, before the strongest and most emotional chapter of the day steals the scene with the “I do”.
The church that the couple chose for the celebration is majestic, it’s the archiepiscopal church of San Martino, in Calolziocorte, where the tones of gold and antique pink intertwine into a sweet enigma. Holger enters the church to wait for Silvia together with his mum. Soon after, the bride arrives on a jolly convertible VW Beetle. Silvia walks down the aisle with her father while around her the awe and excitement are tangible and tears start lining more than one cheek. The exchange of the rings couldn’t be more touching. Two hearts join into one soul: cheers to Love!
The reception takes place at Villa Aura del Lago, a splendid wedding venue on Lake Como where we are greeted with an abundant and diverse buffet orchestrated by the Class Eventi company. Raising a toast to the couple is inevitable when plunged in this romantic ambiance, where all décor details are masterfully arranged by the Angeli Tuttosposi company and accompanied by Lario Jazz Tellers’s music. Before dining the couple indulges in a tour of the lake on board of a local vessel, once used by fishermen, known in the area as “Lucia” or “Bartell”. It’s an intimate, unique moment which reinforces the connection between the bride and her land.
It’s time for the dinner to start at Villa Aura del Lago, where soft lighting at the venue, together with the gleam from the opposite lake shore in the background, become the perfect frame for the cutting of the cake. Finally, it’s time to hit the dance floor. The couple‘s first dance, joyful dancing, mixing friends and family from all over the world.
