This time, I’ll tell you about the wedding of Serena and Matthew at Ca’ Marcello, a beautiful and deeply in love couple whom I had the pleasure of accompanying on their special day.
Serena is Italian, cheerful, full of life, and on that day, filled with emotion. Matthew, on the other hand, is English—reserved and quiet, but his calm demeanor quickly gave way to the warmth of his kind and generous heart.
Both chose to get ready for the wedding at Ca’ Marcello, staying in the venue’s accommodations, surrounded by the timeless beauty of 16th-century frescoes and furnishings. They couldn’t help but admit—there’s something magical in these rooms.
When I arrived to capture Serena’s preparations, the makeup artist, Cristina Daminato, was already making great progress, while her maid of honor tenderly pampered her best friend, radiating contagious sweetness.
Tears of joy began to fall when the bride finally slipped into her delicate dress—the moment of the “I do” was drawing closer and closer.
Walking down the villa’s magnificent tree-lined avenue, beautifully adorned with floral arrangements by Particolarmente Flowers & Events, the couple met to exchange vows of love and mutual respect, surrounded by the warmth of friends and family who had come from all over the world.
The rays of sunlight filtering through the tall trees made the eyes of everyone present sparkle, as their hearts and souls were filled with the tenderness and intensity of the moment—a simple “yes” that spoke more than a thousand words.
Serena and Matthew’s wedding at Ca’ Marcello continued in the grand main hall, where Silvia, the wedding planner from Maison Mariage, masterfully took care of every detail.
Amid speeches that seamlessly blended English and Italian (complete with little flags!), the catering from Cavour Ricevimenti delighted everyone with exquisite dishes, leading up to the dramatic cake cutting in the garden by I Love Sugar.
A romantic first dance opened the floor for a night of energetic celebrations, with dancing, limbo competitions, and impromptu choreography carrying on into the night.
As my time as the wedding photographer at Ca’ Marcello came to an end, I walked away with one key realization: Love, in any language, is always the sweetest word of all.
“Love is a promise,
love is a souvenir,
once given never forgotten,
never let it disappear.”John Lennon
